About department

Mission of Operations Department J3 is to ensure effective command, control, and coordination of military operations; carry our monitoring and evaluation of current situation in the places of operation in order to present timely control information to the Chief of JHQ.

Functions of Joint Situations Section: ensuring effective information exchange between Lithuanian Armed Forces units deployed to the areas of operations and the Joint Headquarters in order to present timely control information to the Chief of JHQ and operational information to the Command of the Ministry of National Defence and the Armed Forces.

Functions of Operations Control Section: ensuring effective command, control, and coordination of operations; carrying our monitoring and evaluation of current situation in the places of operation in order to present timely control information according to the procedure set by the Chief of JHQ.

Functions of Operations Combat Support Section: ensuring effective coordination, control and command of operations of combat support elements; carrying our monitoring and evaluation of current situation in the places of operation in order to present timely control information according to the procedure set by the Chief of JHQ.
